Overcome shyness: Get involved online

If you are like me and lurk around blogs and message boards why not try making a few posts.  You may be surprised at the response.   I have been a member of a certain message board for four years now and I have made less than 70 posts and yet I visit that board nearly every day, and most of them have been made in the last week.

Contributing and getting involved in online communities is a great safe step towards overcoming shyness.

Here are 7 ways you can get involved with online communities:

1. Post comments on blogs you like.

2. Join the Debate at Helium. Share a Point of View. Make Money!
Interesting & Free. Try Helium Now.   I have only just become aware of Heilum but I am enjoying it, and it has the added bonus that they pay you when you write articles.

3. Start your own blog.

4. Find a message board on a topic you like and post comments. There are message boards for every topic, band, singer and tv show so you are sure to find one that matches your interest.

5. Join a site like yahoo answers and help others solve their problems/questions.

6. Join sites like facebook and myspace.  Where you can set up your own page and meet new people and join groups.

7. Join other social sites like digg and stumble upon
